Early Life
Alhaji Ademola Wasiu Alli, PhD, FCA, FCTI was born on Monday, January 27, 1964, in Lagos Island, Lagos, to the family of Alhaji Yahaya Adeleke Alli and Alhaja Nimotallah Adepeju Anike Alli of Kuye Compound, Fiditi, Afijio Local Government Area of Oyo State.
He attended Ago Egba High School, Ebute-Meta, Lagos, for his secondary education. He proceeded to the prestigious University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife), where he obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Accounting in 1989. He later earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the same institution in 1997. In furtherance of his passion for leadership and public governance, he obtained a Doctorate (PhD) in Strategic Leadership and Planning from the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS) in 2025.
A seasoned professional, Alhaji Ademola is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA) and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (FCTI).

A distinguished career spanning over three decades in the Federal Civil Service of Nigeria
Commenced professional career, progressing from Audit Trainee to Audit Supervisor before joining the Federal Civil Service.
Handled auditing of payment vouchers, cash surveys, salary audits, central pay office audits, and preparation of audit reports.
Analyzed financial data, prepared management reports, and contributed to improvements in financial reporting processes.
Prepared bank reconciliations, management reports, and monthly accounts.
Oversaw pension administration, budget preparation, issuance of AIEs, and pension payments. Promoted to Assistant Director.
Led the Secretariat of the Federation Revenue Reconciliation Committee (FRRC) and represented the committee at FAAC.
Key member of the Finance Committee for the 2012 Olympics and the National Sports Festival Committee.
Supervised agencies’ accounts and strengthened financial management systems.
Established robust financial systems, ensured transparent project accounting for the Social Safety Net Programme.
Led initiatives targeted at poverty reduction and inclusive growth.
Strengthened internal control systems and audit compliance.
Oversaw financial operations and improved efficiency in fund management.
Supervised the Ministry’s finances, coordinated budget preparation and defence, introduced reforms for transparency and accountability. Retired meritoriously on January 26, 2024.
